About Me
A big warm hello! I am Jessi Nesbitt, Registered Psychologist and lover of Saturdays, coffee, and adventure.
I established Ilumina Fertility Counselling and Consulting in 2015, and it is excitedly the first fertility focused counselling practice here in Saskatoon, and in Saskatchewan! I am humbled and honored to be part of the fertility community as a whole, working alongside fertility and loss support groups both in Saskatoon & Regina. This passion came from my own journey that included 7 years of negative pregnancy tests, loss, loneliness, fear, and struggle, before my dream was realized.
More than just my education and additional training, I am dedicated to helping others on this journey. I believe in my clients, what they are capable of, and excited in what we can do together.

Surrogacy and Donation Counselling
More than a requirement, it’s an opportunity to build confidence, gain clarity for a positive relational foundation, gain support for intended parents, donors &/or surrogates, and make a great plan that supports everyone involved throughout the entire process. Most of all, the end result can be pretty darn exciting.
Fertility Counselling
To help ease the journey, gain support, move through fear, doubt, & pain towards emotional healing, reconnection, resiliency and confidence in decision making. Counselling can be helpful in any stage of the journey, from trying on your own, involving medical treatments (meds, IUI, IVF, etc.) and considering donor &/or surrogacy in order to build the family you’ve been dreaming of.
Maternal Wellbeing
For those struggling to experience the highly anticipated ‘normal’ pregnancy full of joy & confidence, with some kinda glow (do they mean sweat?). Instead struggling with worry? Anxiousness? Fear? Counselling can support you (& your partner) by focusing on emotional wellness while riding that wild ride of a pregnancy. Especially one after loss and infertility.
Fetal Loss, Pregnancy Complications & Birth Trauma
The depth and shock of receiving devastating news, losing your baby &/or having a traumatic birth can have an overwhelming impact on you, your marriage and your life. The demands of coping and recovery can be greatly supported by a good therapeutic relationship that involves both grief and trauma counselling, as well as support for difficult decision making. Your heartbreak matters. Your loss matters. Your fears matter. Not having the birth you prepared for matters. Healing is possible.
Groups
There is no doubt, having difficulty conceiving can be overwhelming, isolating, and can make us feel powerless, out of control and lost. When we are given the tools, opportunities to heal, when we gather together, powerful transformation occurs. This is why we created this program. We believe there is a better way to heal. Together.
